The route
Fira first, from the cable car along the caldera path to the Three Bells and a rooftop above the town. Then the car to Imerovigli for the chapel terrace below Skaros Rock and the cliff path. Oia last: the windmills, a terrace above the domes and the castle steps from the quiet side, when the day-trippers have left.
Alexandros's note: the order matters more than the spots. Fira while the cruise crowd is still at the port, Imerovigli for the open light, Oia when the alleys empty out. Run it backwards and you meet every tour group on the island.

Sunrise or sunset departure
Sunset departures start about three hours before sunset and end in the blue hour in Oia; this is the classic tour. Sunrise departures start in Oia at 06:30 when the streets are empty, run the route backwards and end in Fira with breakfast. Sunrise gives empty frames; sunset gives the glow. Both give the same number of photos.
In July and August we prefer sunrise for families and anyone who dislikes crowds; in May, June, September and October both work.

Cruise days
Cruise passengers book the tour more than anyone else. We meet you at the top of the cable car in Fira when your tender lands, run Fira and Imerovigli, and either add Oia if your ship stays past 19:00 or finish in Firostefani if it leaves earlier. Tell us the ship and the all-aboard time; we plan the route around it and get you back to the cable car with a margin.
The cable car queue peaks at 16:00 to 18:00 on busy ship days; we time the return around it.
Photo tour or couple session
Both are two hours with Alexandros and 110 or more photos. The couple session stays in one or two villages and spends more time on you; the tour covers three villages with the car and spends more time on the island. Couples on a first visit who want to see everything book the tour; couples who have done the sightseeing book the session.
Prices are per group of up to four. No payment on this site; we confirm within 24 hours and a 30 % deposit secures the date.
Where we shoot it
The postcard: blue domes, the castle ruins, the windmills and the long walk down to Ammoudi. It is also the busiest village on the island from 17:00 until dark.
Sunrise to 09:00 for empty alleys; 60 to 30 minutes before sunset for the domes and the castle, but from the terraces above the crowd.

Are Santorini photo tours worth it?
A private photo tour gives you two hours of walking through Oia, Imerovigli and Fira with a photographer who knows the quiet corners, plus 110 or more edited photos. It replaces a guided walk and a photoshoot with one booking, which is why couples on a short visit choose it.
We arrive on a cruise ship. Can we book?
Yes. We time the session to your tender hours and meet you in Fira or Firostefani, a few minutes from the cable car. One hour is enough for the caldera path and a rooftop; two hours adds Imerovigli. Tell us the ship and its departure time when you request a date.
Is hotel pickup or transport included?
Transport is included in every three-hour session, which moves between three villages. For other sessions we meet at the first location, which is always a short walk or taxi ride from the main road. We can help you plan the ride.
Sunrise or sunset?
Sunset for color and the caldera glow, sunrise for silence. At sunrise Oia's streets are empty and the light is soft, but the caldera side is in shadow until about an hour after. At sunset the views are at their best and so are the crowds, which is why we start away from the viewpoints.
