How we photograph a wedding day
Alexandros photographs every wedding himself. The day is documentary first: the morning at the villa, the walk to the ceremony, the petals, the family at the table, the first dance. Posed frames exist, but they take twenty minutes at golden hour, not an hour at midday.
Alexandros's note: the quiet moments make the gallery. The bride on the white steps before anyone sees her, the grandparents at the table when the sun goes down, the groom's face when the sparklers start. I plan the day so I have time to wait for them.
A second photographer (€350) adds a second angle at the ceremony and covers the groom's preparations while Alexandros is with the bride. For most weddings under 80 guests one photographer is enough.

Venues and their light
Santorini wedding venues sit on the caldera edge, facing west. That is the whole point of getting married here, and it also means the ceremony time decides the photos. A ceremony two and a half hours before sunset gives time for the groups, the walk to the portrait spot and the portraits themselves in the gold, with dinner starting as the sky turns blue.

A timeline that works with the sunset
Every Santorini wedding timeline we recommend starts from the sunset time of the date and works backwards. For a June wedding with sunset at 20:35: preparations until 16:30, ceremony at 17:30, groups until 18:30, couple portraits 19:40 to 20:10, dinner at 20:30, first dance at 22:00.
The booking calendar shows the sunset for your date, and we send a suggested timeline with the confirmation. Planners on the island know this rhythm; if yours proposes a 19:30 ceremony in June, ask them to move it.
Elopements, vow renewals and same-sex weddings
Elopements for two, or for a handful of guests, get the same care with a smaller timeline: one hour covering a short ceremony and portraits at golden hour for €349, or the five-hour half day when getting ready and a dinner are part of it. Vow renewals run the same way without the paperwork.
Same-sex weddings and elopements have been part of our work since the beginning; the double proposal on a catamaran in our portfolio was photographed the same week as the chapel wedding next to it. Tell us your plans and we plan the light around them.
Delivery, albums and film
Galleries are delivered in four to six weeks with a sneak peek of twenty photos within 48 hours, in full resolution, in a private online gallery for twelve months. Albums and fine-art prints are quoted separately. A wedding film by our team starts at €1,490; drone footage is possible at venues outside the village centers, where it is permitted.
Where we shoot it
The postcard: blue domes, the castle ruins, the windmills and the long walk down to Ammoudi. It is also the busiest village on the island from 17:00 until dark.
