Pick a date to see sunrise, golden hour and sunset for Santorini
An elopement in Santorini is a ceremony for two, or for a few guests, on a caldera terrace, in a white chapel or at your villa, followed by portraits in the best light of the day. We photograph it in three hours for €890 with 150 or more edited photos, a sneak peek within 48 hours and the full gallery in four to six weeks.
Vow renewals, symbolic ceremonies and small weddings up to about ten guests use the same package. Below: how the three hours are spent, the chapels and terraces that face the sunset, and what to tell your planner.
Packages
Thirty minutes of getting ready at your hotel: the dress on the hanger against the caldera, the rings, the last look in the mirror. Twenty to thirty minutes for the ceremony. Then the part big weddings never get: two hours of walking through the village and along the cliff with the dress and the suit, with nobody waiting at a dinner table.
Alexandros's note: I plan every elopement from the sunset time of the date, not from the venue's calendar. A ceremony two and a half hours before sunset lands the portraits exactly in the gold.
Guests are welcome. With up to ten people we still have time for a group portrait, a toast and the walk.
Per group, no payment today. We confirm within 24 hours; a 30 % deposit then secures your date.
Santorini has hundreds of chapels and most of them are private or closed; the ones used for ceremonies are a short list, and the light differs from one to the next. Terraces at caldera hotels face west by definition; chapel courtyards can face anywhere.
| Setting | Where | Ceremony light | Portraits after |
|---|---|---|---|
| White chapel with blue doors | Imerovigli, Pyrgos, Megalochori | Even light in the courtyard until late afternoon | Cliff path or village alleys at golden hour |
| Caldera terrace at your hotel | Imerovigli, Firostefani, Fira | Open sun, best after 18:00 | Chapel terrace below Skaros Rock, ten minutes away |
| Private villa terrace | Oia side, Imerovigli | Depends on the orientation; we check it with you | Oia from the quiet side |
| Catamaran deck | Caldera cruise | Golden hour at sea | The boat itself, Oia cliffs behind |
| Beach | Perivolos, Vlychada | Sunset over the sea | The white cliffs of Vlychada |

Three things decide the photos: the ceremony time, the walk from the ceremony to the portrait spot, and the sunset. Ask for a ceremony about two and a half hours before sunset, keep the walk under ten minutes, and leave the dinner reservation for after the blue hour. We send a suggested timeline with the confirmation and are happy to talk to your planner directly.
Paperwork for a legal ceremony in Greece takes time; symbolic ceremonies and vow renewals need none. Our sister team can advise on venues and officiants; we handle the photography.
150 or more edited photos in full resolution, a sneak peek of twenty within 48 hours, and the full gallery in four to six weeks, online for twelve months. Personal-use rights to print and share. Add a 60-second reel (€120) or drone footage where permitted (€200); a second photographer is €350 and a film starts at €1,490.
No payment on this site: we confirm within 24 hours, a 30 % deposit secures the date, the balance is paid on the day.

The postcard: blue domes, the castle ruins, the windmills and the long walk down to Ammoudi. It is also the busiest village on the island from 17:00 until dark.
Sunrise to 09:00 for empty alleys; 60 to 30 minutes before sunset for the domes and the castle.

The highest village on the caldera and the quietest of the three. Skaros Rock.
Golden hour, 70 to 10 minutes before sunset, on the chapel terrace below Skaros.

The capital: the caldera path, the Three Bells, white hotels stacked on the cliff and the old port below.
Morning for the caldera path and rooftops; sunset from a private terrace rather than the main…
