What it is
Most surprise proposals fail on two details: the partner spots the photographer, or the photographer is on the wrong side of the light. We solve both before you land. You get the spot, the exact minute and a simple signal; Alexandros gets there early and blends in.
Alexandros's note: my favorite hiding places are not hiding places at all. On the chapel terrace below Skaros I stand at the wall with a camera like every other visitor. The trick is to look bored until you reach the mark.
Two hours can be the same evening or split: the proposal at sunset and a calm hour the next morning, when Oia at 07:30 belongs to the two of you and the news has sunk in. If you want candles, a floral setup, a private dinner afterwards or the whole evening planned, our sister team Santorini Proposals plans the whole proposal. We photograph it.

A typical session
Alexandros arrives at the terrace, checks the light and the wind, sends you a one-word message: ready.
You walk down the path to the mark we agreed on. He is at the chapel wall, camera up like everyone else.
The question. The first 30 frames are shot from twenty meters away.
He walks over, introduces himself, and you get twenty minutes of portraits while the light is still gold.
Times for a one-hour July date in Imerovigli. The planning call fixes the exact minute for your date; two and three hours continue with portraits in a second and third spot.
Where
Golden hour, 70 to 10 minutes before sunset, on the chapel terrace below Skaros.
Sunrise to 09:00 for empty alleys; 60 to 30 minutes before sunset for the domes and the castle.
Morning for the caldera path and rooftops; sunset from a private terrace rather than the main walkway.

How much does a proposal photographer cost in Santorini?
A one-hour proposal session costs €349: Alexandros photographs the moment from a hidden position, then shoots 20 minutes of portraits. You receive 60 or more edited photos within two to three days. Two hours (€499) add a long portrait session, the same evening or the next morning; a film of the proposal is a €390 add-on.
Can we shoot on a catamaran or at our villa?
Yes. Villa terraces and hotel pools are among our favorite private spots, and we regularly photograph proposals on catamaran cruises below the cliffs of Oia. Catamaran proposals are quoted individually because the boat is booked separately.
Proposal or engagement shoot: what is the difference?
A proposal shoot captures the surprise itself, photographed from a hidden position, with portraits right after. An engagement shoot is a planned couple session once you are already engaged, often the next morning. Two hours of the proposal session cover both for €499: the surprise one evening, the calm session the next morning.
Can you also film it or bring a second photographer?
Yes. The proposal film (€390) adds a one to two minute edit, with drone footage where permitted. For weddings a second photographer costs €350 and a wedding film starts at €1,490.
